City that never sleeps: Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo, the mammoth cosmopolitan city is rightly called the city that never sleeps because of its buzzing day as well as nightlife. I was very excited to watch and experience the epicenter of business, entertainment, fashion, commerce and politics prevailing in Sao Paulo, so booked my flights to Sao Paulo, the capital city of Brazil last year.

A day full of activity in Sao Paulo
The Paulistanos or the local workers start flooding the streets on week days in their formal western attire, watching this corporate scenario on the streets in Sao Paulo even I got out of bed to start my day trip and explore the city full of life, the very next morning after landing late night on the airport by booking cheap flights to Sao Paulo. While buying fresh fruits from the street vendors, I got to know that Sao Paulo is also known as the powerhouse or the industrial locomotive of Brazil.

The moment I heard Brazil, my mind started recalling the pictures of soccer, so I decided to visit the major sports centre of Brazil with huge infrastructure. Many soccer matches and international championships have been held in these two stadiums: the Pacaeumbu and the Morumbi Stadium. These stadiums truly reflect the love and passion for soccer in Sao Paulo. Since I am a sports freak, the next destination which I chose was the high speed and emotional Interlagos Autodrome, where the Formula One championship is held every year without a miss.

Finally to know the culture of Brazil in detail or to know it better I took a taxi to the famous Museum de arte Sao Paulo. Here the ancient collections of traditional paintings ranging from the period of Renaissance to the modern contemporary era were displayed. I was astonished to see the unique way of displaying the masterpieces which was totally unique as the paintings were hung from the ceiling and arranged in rows. This collection of oldest and the modern paintings in totally antique manner made my cheap tickets to Sao Paulo worthwhile.

Get bamboozled by the nightlife in Sao Paulo
The hottest clubs and the intense dance locations spread all around in Sao Paulo make it not less than a New York at night. As a visitor I picked the Sunday print of Sao Paulo’s Veja magazine which lists the happy hours and the cheap prices for the best bars and clubs. The cheap airfares proved to be very beneficial as I got to spend more on the bars and restaurants in the Vila Madalena’s clubs where you have to pay a minimum fee for the hard drinks. If you are a music lover and want to shake your booty like me then Azucar is the hottest Latin club where you will find every music beat from salsa to merengue to tango

As the moon light dawns, the Azucar gets jam packed with people. The best airfares gave me an opportunity to save money and splurge it on experiencing the exuberant night life of Sao Paulo.

A hip trip to Athens

Mild winters of the magical city of Athens made me plan my vacation tour to Greece last year during February, so I booked the inexpensive flight tickets to Athens for the whole family. The enchanting capital of Greece, Athens was ready to welcome us with its flourishing archaeological sites of the ancient civilization. Since our flight landed at night we spent the night resting at the hotel room.

Our Day-Tour to the Acropolis

The very next morning my kids were all set to explore Athens, I was kicked out of bed on the very first day of the vacation. After eating the sumptuous breakfast, the first thing which we did was to reach the renowned archaeological site in Europe, The Acropolis of Athens. The kids were keen to visit this one of the Seven Wonders of the World, since they had read about it in their history books. We took the metro of Athens and got off at the Acropolis station. From here we took an enjoyable walk uphill.

The Acropolis remains open from 8 am to 6:30p.m. And we bought four tickets for entrance to the site which cost us € 12 per person.  If you want you can hire a licensed guide for € 50 or more to take you through all the important places in the Acropolis. We reached the Parthenon, the must see site because it is the most excellent refuge building built by the most advanced civilization. My personal favorite site was at the flag from where you can see the glorious Athens spread below like a carpet. From here you can see the famous Plaka beneath you along with the Olympic stadium and the ruins of the giant temple of Olympian Zeus. After roaming about and enjoying the miraculous architectures we decided to return back and while coming downhill we enjoyed good and delicious food at the cafes and restaurants by the roadside.

Since we all were badly tired, we took a taxi back to the hotel. But the whole tour was justified as we got to see an amazing archaeological site by taking flights to Athens.

Entertaining nightlife at Athens

Cheap ticket airline make it affordable to enjoy the buzzing nightlife in Athens. I decided to enjoy the nightlife activities with the famous ‘Bouzoukia’ singers and players along with relishing food. We reached the main area of Plaka where shows are organized for tourists. The flea market of the Psiri was worth buying local handicrafts, and whatever money I had saved by buying cheap tickets to Athens was used for buying local handicrafts by my wife. The fun and the night outing did not end here we decided to go for few drinks at the up-market bars and restaurants located in Thission area. Again I was ready to spend some cash which I had saved by booking cheap flights to Athens on the finest cuisine and the mocktails and cocktails ordered by my family.

Finally as night dawned, all of us reached back to our hotel rooms after an amazing day tour and bustling nightlife in Athens.

The Enchanting Fort Lauderdale Trip

Wanting a whiff of sea air and surf spray, I zeroed on in Fort Lauderdale as my vacation site. A major yachting port in Florida, this city was just the place I wanted to head to for a super holiday. With nearly 100 marinas and boatyards, Fort Lauderdale seems to be endowed with fun activities with its 4000+ restaurants, bistros, cafes and nightclubs.

Looking for the best airline deals, I found this place to be well connected to all major cities like Atlanta, Charleston, Dallas, Washington and New York. Travel agents told me that lots of cheap plane tickets are available at ease when heading to this destination.

My research also divulged that there are other cheap flights to Fort Lauderdale that can be availed from Albany, Boston, Burbank and Denver. I even contemplated chartering a helicopter to hop into this city, as I found that there were nearly 40 helicopters stationed at the Executive airport offering prime service.

Tourist attractions of Fort Lauderdale:

I finally hopped on to a flight to Fort Lauderdale, often called the Venice of America.

Dania Beach, Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach lure with their silky sand and aquamarine waves with yachting cruises and tours. Fort Lauderdale beach is the scene of action for Snorkeling, Scuba diving, wind-surfing, jet-skiing, deep sea fishing, boating or rollerblading. I found people picnicking, camping and even trekking on the nature trails at the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. I visited the Aquatics complex at the Swimming Hall of Fame, which is the pride of the city. Bonnet House was more of a naturalist museum with its environ-exhibits. The local tourist guide informed me that Lady Helen Fishing charters could take me on an unforgettable fishing expedition.

Whenever I wanted to play tennis Jimmy Evert, George English Tennis centers or the Bass Park, Carter Park or Riverside Park were the places I was referred to. For a jazz jamboree, I headed to the smith & Jones Jazz Bar. A visit to Elbo Room was a must for a sample of Fort Lauderdale‘s nightlife. I laughed till my sides ached at the hilarious comedy act, when I was at Laffing Matterz.
For a shop-alcoholic like me, this city proved to be a treat. I went to the Swap Shop for unusual curios. Galleria Mall is more upscale. Bass Pro shop is a fisher’s retreat.

Unique Activities:

I soon found that Fort Lauderdale has many unique activities. This destination is best known for its Greater Fort Lauderdale International Boat show. The first Sunday of every month at River walk holds primetime for you with its Sunday Jazz Brunch. The Fourth of July and New Year Countdowns are special treats of this place.

Operating Airlines:

You can get cheap tickets to Fort Lauderdale through the widely preferred South west Airlines; Continental Airlines or the United Airlines.

Hotels in here

I decided to dock at any one accommodations like
  • Alhambra Resort
  • Pillars Hotel
  • Holiday Inn
  • Atlantic resort & Spa
  • Lago Mar resort & Spa
  • Hilton Fort Lauderdale Resort
Getting Around:

The city offers multiple facilities for touring the city
  • Use the Broward County Mass Transit which is the cheap bus system
  • The Tri-Rail is ideal for a leisurely train ride around town.
  • A unique and entertaining option is the Water Bus Service around this American Venice.
I found the city refreshing and recreational, and now it’s your turn to try.

The very lively Las Vegas Holidays

The name Las Vegas, to me, conjures an image of casinos, dice, Russian roulette, jackpots and dozens of dollars. The city offers wholesome fun and frolic for each and everyone who enters its door. Along with a bevy of theme parks, game shows, music and dance events, the city also has national parks, museums and galleries to feast our eyes on.

I wanted to grab the best offers and nab a cheap flight to Las Vegas. The travel agency advised that the best time to travel is from November to February when thousands of offers will afloat. Several airlines offer affordable round trip flight deals to Las Vegas from Phoenix, Denver, San Francisco et al for just $100. Other flights to Las Vegas operate from Chicago, Columbus, Charlotte, Nashville and Fort Lauderdale.

With over 30 airlines and 2300 flights operating per week from Las Vegas, I did not have any problem getting cheap tickets to Las Vegas.

Hotels in Las Vegas:
With nearly 281 hotels ranging from the palatial and prime to the homely-comfy, the destination boasts of great accommodation at Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, Staybridge Suites, Platinum hotel & Spa, La Quinta Inn, Red Rock Casino ,Desert Rose Resort, Signature at MGM Grand or Encore.

Tourist Attractions of Las Vegas:
I headed to the Adventure Dome for crazy heart stopping rides atop roller coasters like the Sling-Shot and The Canyon Blaster. I did not want to miss out the water and log rides at Adventure Canyon. For a space travel experience, I boarded the Big shot at the Stratosphere. I got into the Desperado for an adventurous roller coaster ride through mountains and tunnels. I watched people go indoor Sky-Diving at the Vegas convention center for a free-fall experience.

I went for a leisurely stroll at the Las Vegas Spring Reserve and Floyd Lamb Park. Golfing at Desert Pines Golf Club at Durango Golf Club was fun. The highlight of my trip was watching Broadway shows at the Smith Center Symphony Park

Unique attractions of Las Vegas:
I found Las Vegas having a number of novelties. To start with, the Bellagio Water show- a fantastic fountain display in front of the casino that shoots up every half an hour. The Volcano at Mirage - a fiery audio-visual display offering the sight of an almost-real life volcano spitting out fumes to the fusion music of Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and Indian Tabla player Zakir Hussain. Next is the Shark Reef Aquarium at Hotel Mandalay Bay-where I watched live killers like Piranha, SawFish, Giant Rays and even the rare Golden Crocodile at this amazing shark reef Aquarium at Hotel Mandalay Bay. This is North America’s only predator marine exhibit, would you believe it?

The Lion Exhibit at hotel MGM –Grand – was a must see for me with ferocious felines roaming, playing and romping live inside a glass enclosure.

Fremont Street Show- Fremont Street has a canopy which turns its lights o for the Viva Vision show. Apart from this, light and sound shows flood Fremont Street gave me a psychedelic experience.

Las Vegas is lasting fun and entertainment- - don’t miss it.

Boston, The Hub of the Universe

Planning the Boston Adventure
The charm of the cultural and the economic hub of New England is unending, and hence I planned a getaway to this beautiful place with my family. We were astonished by the spirited neighbourhood which was totally distinct in character with quaint brown-stone lined streets and the renowned Red Sox. The cultural diversity of all the neighboring attractions is deeply rooted in the strength and diversity of Boston. I planned and booked my cheap tickets to Boston for an exciting vacation with the whole family.

Neighboring Destinations of Boston
We availed the best airline discounts to travel to the neighboring destinations and thus saved traveling time along with money. Among all the famous neighboring destinations like the Black Bay, Beacon Hill, DownTown Crossing, Faneuill Hall, Fort point, Fenway, Harvard Square and North End, we chose to visit Fort Point and Harvard Square. I clicked some amazing snaps by the harbor-side at the Fort Point, which is Boston’s major attraction with revitalized waterfront. Since my son is a bit intellectual, the Harvard Square was the perfect destination for him to discover the scholarly and the artistic aspect in the academic atmosphere bubbling in the dynamic environment. We didn’t want to indulge in much of shopping, therefore, we dropped the idea of visiting Faneuill hall and North End and took our flights to Boston to explore the major attractions of the capital.

Museums and Major Attractions in Boston City
I took the kids to the Blue Hills Trailside Museum the very next day, which is 20 minutes drive downtown from Boston city. The next stop was Boston’s Children’s Museum where my kids had a blast. This delightful museum was enjoyed the most by my kids and along with them I and my wife also became little kids! The New Balance Climb is a three-storey building which enhances the motor skills in children, and my son enjoyed most the problem solving puzzles. Science Playground and the Johnny’s workbench were their personal favorites as they got to create giant size soap bubbles and explored their creativity too. This museum is worth visiting and spending this I realized once all of us had ultimate fun over here. Located at 300, Congress St., Boston MA.

Tickle your taste buds with fusion cuisine
Since we had heard a lot about the Boston Cream Pie, and my wife’s sweet tooth was craving for something sweet, we decided to eat some of the finest and genuine clam chowder along with Boston's cream pie by the waterfront outdoor cafes. The money I saved by booking cheap ticket airlines for the whole family was worth spending on the trendy and sophisticated dining at the restaurants and the cafe's situated downtown Boston. You can have the fresh local farm sourced ingredients with best hospitality at the 80 Thoreau located in Great Boston west.

We had fun unlimited and my family also enjoyed so much that we are ready to book the cheap flights to Boston back again this season and begin our adventurous trip to the major attractions we left last year.

Amazing Nightlife in Orlando
The bars and clubs are buzzing with activity and recreation during the night and even I got to put my feet up and rewind myself at some of the most famous bars like DownTown Disney and the Tuk Tuk Room. However if you are on a long trip then you can try out the famous Icon Nightclub, CityWalk’s Rising Star and Hard Rock Live.
