Carnival Blues: An Experience to Remember

This year, my holiday plans, were not yet decided so while surfing the internet in the night, I came across the annual carnival that is held in Rio de Janeiro. Looking at all the pictures made me want to visit the place for my vacations. It was a beautiful city. That is what I gathered after browsing through pictures and managed to convince my friends to plan a holiday.

I got in touch with the travel agents, to find us cheap flights to Rio de Janeiro. Sometimes finding cheap airline flights like Go Air can be quite a task. There are many internet booking sites that have cheap tickets. There are many Flights to Rio de Janeiro from the New Delhi international airport. After a lot of research and finding options, I finally managed to book cheap tickets to Rio de Janeiro.

Rio is known throughout the world for the carnivals that it hosts every year to celebrate the coming of spring time. It is celebrated all through the entire city. The neighboring towns and villages also take part in it. The carnival sees a lot of tourists visiting it every year, and the number is increasing year by year. We were also present to take part and enjoy the festivities. The carnival is a four day long affair. Where the celebrations start a month before Easter and end just before the fasting period of Lent begins. This grand carnival takes place in the month of February every year. The city has very hot weather all round the year. We were very fortunate to be able to witness this event. It is considered to be one of the biggest carnivals held in the world. The atmosphere comes alive with all the festivities in the air.

The best part of this is that there is so much to learn from it. The event is witnessed by people all over the world, and it shows them about the rich heritage and culture of Brazil. All the people of the city take pride in this event as it tells us all about their culture.

One can see people dancing, singing and having a merry time. There are parties going on at all times in different parts of the city. The environment is very relaxed, and everyone is ready to have a good time and make the most of it. This carnival is known as the Samba Parade also, as Samba is one of the most important music that is played here in Brazil. The beats are very catchy and easy to dance. This music has religious significance to it. The people believe that if they play the samba then it is like offering a pray of thanks to their gods. Practices for the parade start a few months in advance.

Visiting the city during this time is spectacular and makes it worth taking a trip.

Dallas Home of the Cow Boys - A Vacation to Remember

Dallas has been known as the land of the cow boys. Since childhood, I have had a strange fascination for them after I saw the movie “The good bad and the ugly”. The hats, the ribbed jeans, the jackets, the boots with shiny silver spurs on them that the cow boys wear and not to forget the classic metallic shot guns they carry are all part of memories. When you think of this place, you picture a big farm with lots of bulls, horses, cows, hens and roosters flying all over the place. Dust blowing all over the ranch, and a few cactus trees. The delicious food that they serve makes my mouth water just thinking about them.

I got a chance to visit this place a few months back for my holidays. Ever since, I came to know about the vacation, since it was a month’s time in advance, I decided to book the airline tickets. Because the holiday season is on, all the cheap flights to Dallas are mostly sold out. Luck was on my side, and I managed to get cheap tickets to Dallas. There a many flights operating like the Virgin Airways, Atlanta, and Air Canada. One can pick and choose what suits your budget the best. Do a little research so that you can find the best airlines tickets. With the tickets done, I was ready to go. The weather was unusually hot, but so much of enthusiasm from my side couldn’t let me rest. I was there to discover the land of the cowboys.

The city is famous for its barbeques, Mexican food and spices. There are many excellent restaurants that one can visit. My mouth waters when I remember all the tasty food that I ate there. The people who I met there were very kind. The entire holiday was spent on a ranch. Riding horses and visiting vineyards. Eating lavish meals and relaxing by the pool with a cold glass of ice tea was my idea of a nice holiday. The best time to visit Dallas would be from the months of September to December. The weather is cool and pleasant. The rest of the months are very hot and dry. The city gets very humid in the summer months. A week passed by at the speed of lightening, and before I knew it was time to head back home. I hated coming back and wished that the holiday could last longer. But, I guess all good things must come to an end and so did my trip. But I do intend to go back to my favorite holiday spot soon, it was one of the best holidays I had in a very long time.

Vancouver - A Classy Retreat

A panoramic picture of Vancouver caught my attention as I was flipping pages on a travel magazine. It showed the Granville Street Bridge and Oak Street. The view was splendid with the backdrop of snow capped mountains. My mind was preoccupied with this city and I put it on my wish list. The travel agent informed us that it was very easy to book airline tickets and get cheap flights to Vancouver as the same is a hot spot among tourists. Prominent airlines like British Airways, Air Canada, Air France, Jet Airways, US Airways offer non-stop daily flights to Vancouver International Airport. Thankfully he made flight reservations on Jet Airways at discounted fares.

You can find diversified branches of life ranging from the wealthy and prosperous to the humble. One street you may find high-styled sky-scrappers and the other turn you will also see traditional commercial buildings. The city is still in its youth trying to discover its path and is high-spirited, rebellious, vibrant and lively.

Stanley Park is one of the main attractions and you could spend the entire day exploring it. We also visited the heritage sites which had antique lamps and cobble laden streets and transported us to the past. Visit to China town and Little India was a wholesome experience too. Each area had different flavors to offer and had vibes of its own. These spots are frequented by locals as well as visitors and are equally crowded during night times. People shop here for spices, food, clothes, jewellery or simply browse books.

We also spend time at the beautiful beaches of Kitsilano and spend hours gazing the mountains. Bursting with scenic beauty, splendid beaches, great climate, abundant outdoor activities and water sports, prosperous malls, electrifying and sleepless nightlife, the offerings of Vancouver are countless. You could stay in hotels that range from superior to moderate and eat an awesome spread of mouth-watering international and local food that makes your visit a delightful experience.
