A Holiday in Punta Cana

If you are planning a trip to Punta Cana, be prepared for a good dose of pampering amidst picturesque settings. With its pristine beaches, all-inclusive resorts and friendly ambiance, this is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Moreover, with many cheap flights to Punta Cana from all parts of the world, you can also get a holiday within your budget.

The Punta Cana International airport is one of the busiest in the Dominican Republic and many major airlines operate direct flights to Punta Cana. When you book your airline tickets, check if there are any US Airways Flight deals or JetBlue flights where you can get cheap plane tickets.

While everyone knows Punta Cana as a top Caribbean destination for a relaxing island holiday with challenging water sports, few know the culinary delights the place has to offer. In fact, you can book your flights to Punta Cano just for the dining options here.

The all-inclusives

Most people book their all-inclusive packages when they book their flights to Punta Cana. These packages include resort accommodation with breakfast, lunch and dinner; usually buffet style. Punta Cana resorts are known for their delicious as well as filling spread at buffets. A few days of pampering at these resorts ARE enough to make us want to stay on there forever.

Most of these resorts also have a’ la carte restaurants if you wish to skip the buffets. However, remember to book your table in advance if you decide to go a’ la carte. If you are looking for a specific cuisine, you can get it at these a’ la carte restaurants; just check out if there is a dress code before you step into these restaurants.

The Vento restaurant at The Reserve, Barcelo Bavaro Palace, Bavaro Princess Punta Cana, Iberostar Grand and Melia Caribe are known for their delectable dining options. The La Yola at Punta Cana Resort can be a lovely place for special occasion dining; keep this in mind if you are on a honeymoon or anniversary trip.

Outside the resorts

Though resort food at the all-inclusives can be tempting, it’s worth a trip to restaurants outside the resort if you want to experience the real mood of the island. Fresh seafood plays a major role in most restaurants by the beach. Try out the Jellyfish restaurant and Captain Cook’s for some Punta Cana specialties like grilled salmon with salad. The Outside In Bar & Restaurant, Kukua Beach Club, Hard Rock CafĂ© and O’Porto are other restaurants that are worth checking out. Since this is predominantly a tourist destination, prices at popular restaurants can be quite steep; if you are looking for cheap eats, try out the Delicias De Bavaro or Steve’s Corner Bar.

Don’t miss out on these dining options when you go to Punta Cana for your holiday. Start your holiday with an open mind and an empty stomach and you won’t be disappointed.
