Exciting nightlife in Houston

Houston is an exciting city with lively nightlife that offers a variety of options for entertainment like bars and themed restaurants to suit different sensibilities. These hangouts are as unique and different as I found out and they rightly reflect the city’s multi-layered personality. For a foodie and romantic person like me availability of bar and grill, bars with live bands, karaoke bars and even wine and coffee bars in Houston was something I have been always looking forward to. Hence, I took up one of the cheap flights to Houston and started exploring the city.

Trendy Bar - Brasil

The moment I stepped into Brasil the experience of a trendy bar with the ambience of a coffee shop and serving martinis took me completely out of this world. There is some great local music and also a platform for budding poets and writers to share their work with an encouraging audience. Or try Catbirds in Westheimer that has the backdrop of Americana with a jukebox blaring in the background and sweet, private booths for first dates.

The Cadillac Bar with its basement setting and formally dressed waiters took me by surprise. The LZ pub and Jax grill are other popular local hangouts while a tequila fan must try the more than fifty varieties of tequila served at La Cuerva. With such cheap plane fares you should certainly not miss a trip to this city.

Shopping on Main street Houston

While in Houston I checked out with the popular Dean’s Credit Clothing on Main Street, that is a thrift store cum bar rolled into one. There is always live music by local rock bands so it was fun shopping for retro clothing while listening to some funky acid jazz played by their in house DJ.6th Street Bar and Grill also proved to be a decent bar serving twelve types of beer on tap and some good food to go with it. The place also offers good selection of wines and other liquor. So it’s worth buying ticket air line for enjoying all these pleasures.

Treat to taste buds

The Bull and Bear Tavern and Eatery have a great selection of beer on tap and some great food to go with. I also visited the Al’s Sports Bar and Grill that is no less than a local institution and is the perfect place to catch your favorite game along with some great beer. Another exceptional bar is the open air C&F Drive Inn where I enjoyed ice cold beer while playing shots at the pool table. I was certainly glad that I had used cheap tickets to Houston.

Music and theatre

There are other entertainment options available in Houston if you like music and theatrical performances. I enjoyed the Theatre under the Stars where popular Broadway shows were staged in the Hermann Park along with a live orchestra and a host of talented singers and dancers. The Houston Grand opera also has opera performances in the evening throughout the year. If all these delightful experiences enchant you, then take up one of the flights to Houston and bask in the glorious wonders of Houston.
