The biggest of all carnival in the world, takes place every year just before Lent and the city of Rio de Janeiro is almost thrown off the gear, with more than 2 million people hitting the streets every day. Being a part of it is all about an ecstasy and rapture never known before.

Rio de Janeiro is synonymous with the famous carnival that draws millions of visitors from all across the world. I was stunned to know that Rio carnival gets almost 500,000 visitors every year. I was eager to enjoy this mesmerizing ‘Carnaval’ right in the carnival Capital of the World. Considered to be one of the most artistic events of the globe, the carnival is simply a benchmark for the other carnivals of the world as well. I was too happy to be a part of it and so started planning well ahead. With plenty of cheap airline flights and cheap tickets to Rio de Janeiro, I had a lot to choose from.

Samba Rules in the Carnival
Uniquely Brazilian, the carnival is all about Samba music and dance. Flamboyance and fun glamour and glitz all contributes to the very essence of the carnival. The magnificent samba parades are held on all the four festive nights of the carnival and the most premier dance schools take part in the vents. The breathtaking choreography, erotic costumes, dazzling pomp and glitter coupled with sizzling music and incredible floats and props all make the carnival a glorious affair. These mainly take place during the Sunday carnival and the Monday carnival.

I am looking forward to the colorful street parades and the intricate and glitzy costumes of the participants which are simply a delight for the bystanders. There are regular flights to Rio de Janeiro from all the major cities of the world and I started my search for the cheap tickets to strike a bargain and simply got ready to hit the scene.
